Market Situation and Potentials in Japan for Technologies for Solid Biomass Utilization
With the Third Basic Plan for the Promotion of Biomass Utilisation approved by the Cabinet in September 2022, the Japanese government has set itself the goal of using around 80% of annual biomass production by 2030 in order to realise a sustainable society with a lower environmental impact.
The webinar presentation on 6 February 2024 gave an overview of the main applications for solid biomass use, barriers to market entry and solid biomass use, and highlighted a variety of opportunities and tools for entering the Japanese market, such as partnerships, technology alliances, membership in associations, trade fair participation and joint ventures with domestic players in Japan.
The webinar was aimed at EU companies looking to establish or strengthen their position in the Japanese biomass technology market.
