German Pavillion on the Japan Home & Building Show 2015
The trend towards "green" or "smart" buildings is seen especially in the big cities. In Tokyo, from 2017 onwards, more stringent building regulations with regard to energy efficiency will apply to all new construction projects with more than 2,000 m2. Added to this is the much discussed "Sick House Syndrome" in Japan.
In Japan, a new, attractive market has emerged in recent years, which is particularly interesting for the innovative German companies in the construction industry.
The Japan Home & Building Show, which took place for the 37th time in 2015, is the largest building trade fair in Japan and East Asia. This year, the fair counted 15,528 visitors on the three visit days.
The central theme of the Japan Home & Building Show 2015 is ecological building with new technologies. Japanese and foreign exhibitors therefore place a clear focus on ecological and health aspects and show, for example, building components for energy saving, such as double and triple glazing or health-friendly building materials such as wood fiber insulation, mineral paints, clay plaster, etc.
The participants were able to establish valuable contacts with potential customers or partners and to make the company as well as the products known to a wide range of experts. In general, German participation and the resulting market outlook were rated as positive.
